What is a Church?

Postby Barbykins on Tue Nov 03, 2009 10:26 am

Church isn't a building. It is a family of God"s people.
A church should be: A place of welcome and laughter, of healing and hope, Of friends and family, a place of justice and a new life,
A place where the homeless can drop in for a bowl of soup, where the elderly can stop by for a chat,
A place for drug addicts to be guided to where they can get help,
A place where you can come in with a small faith and grow together where to all become greater. Where love and care can overflow to hospitals, schools, and prisons,

I found this in a book I am reading.SIMPLY CHRISTIAN
Live so you're neither afraid of tomorrow,
Nor ashamed of yesterday.

Great quote! This umbrella of what the church covers leaves room for different worship styles and ministry models. The body of Christ might reach out in one community differently than in another but the message will and must be consistent.
