Update: I signed the lease and gave the lady a check postdated for tomorrow. Please, pray that my account is OK, my check will be deposited, and all goes well with the landlady being able to cash my check in the morning. I've recently had problems with the bank and am in overdraft until my check is deposited tomorrow. Pray my account is open in the morning and that there are no problems with the landlady cashing the check I wrote for the rent. Also, it's a counter check, which I hope doesn't cause problems. I don't use checks...have always used a debit card or money order. Please, pray about this for me, pray everything is fine and that the room is my new home for the next year, at least. I'm hoping to get my stuff all moved in on Sunday, and I really need prayers going up for me that everything goes well, no problems.

Also, I now have to let my friend know that I'm not planning to move in with him. He was being so back and forth about everything that I had to look for another option for fear of having nowhere to go. I hope he understands; he isn't depending on me for money to pay his rent or anything, but he might be upset. It's just that I was afraid he'd change his mind again, so I was afraid to depend on him. Also, he isn't the most stable person in the world, as he is a daily drinker, so I think moving in with him would not be good for me.

I just talked to my friend; he's not mad and understood my reservations about our living together.

Now, I'm just waiting until in the morning, praying that all goes well with my account, the landlady cashing my check, and etcetera. Please, keep praying. I need this place, and my friend wouldn't be an option now as far as a place to live.

Also, I hope the landlady is on the up and up. She seems fine and nice, and churchgoing, but you don't ever know these days. Writing out a check for that much money and not knowing the person you wrote it out to is scary. You don't ever know about people these days. Please, pray the lady I wrote the check to is on the up and up, a good person, and that there are no problems with my living there for the next year, or longer if I want.

Gotcha! I see where you are coming from. I wouldn't have reservations about giving here a check though- at least it isn't cash. I am sure everything is going to work out fine. I don't know how you don't have an ulcer.....you are such a worrier! lol You even beat me out! lol

Well, I noticed there was still too much money in my account, so I called the landlady. She hasn't taken my check to the bank yet, and that makes me nervous...like she might change her mind about renting to me for some reason. Please, pray that all is fine. I wont feel better until that check is cashed. Please, pray that I don't have any problems and that the room I signed the lease on is mine for at least the next year. I've had so many problems and so much negativity the last year of my life that everything worries me these days. It's like I always look at what could go wrong and start worrying, because so much has gone wrong. Please, pray. I am quite stressed out. I really need your prayers going up for me. Thank you. I hope the reason she hasn't cashed the check is because she is as busy as I and if that is so, it only gave you more time for your check to be added to your account.

Seems like everything is looking up for you. It's time to think positive even though you don't feel positive.

Erin- as a landlord I will tell you-- I never run to the bank right away with my tenants checks. No reason other than I go to the bank only several times a month. STOP WORRYING SISTER!!! Give it to God and we will be praying for you! This WILL work out for you.

I'm still stressed out. I was so stressed out that I forgot to even get a receipt from the landlady for the counter check I gave her, which means I have no proof that I even paid her. I'm so tired of having so many problems that everything stresses me out. I expect everything to go wrong these days, because so much has. I'm so worried that this will fall through, and I'll have nowhere to move to. I'm so sick of living like this. Please, continue to pray about this for me.

Don't stress Let God handle it. You have prayers for you and he is in control. Take some deep breaths. That check has to be cashed and it will show up back where it goes (won't it) and that should be the proof. Don't keep calling her as maddie said they don't always run to the bank with the check when they get it.
I would suggest going to have a KC Donut and coffee but as my year old great-grandson says. I am smarter than that lolol

I only called her once, and that was yesterday. I'm just worried that if they change their mind and want to rent to someone else, they could just say I didn't pay them, and get out of the lease and leave me homeless, because I didn't get a receipt. You all know that I have misdemeanors on my record from when I was a teenager, and if they look into my background, they might be bothered by that and change their mind. Also, I have bad credit since not finding a decent job and not being able to pay on my credit cards; that could make them not want to rent to me.

I've been planning to move in tomorrow, and I'm just so stressed out. If it falls through, I'd be w/o anywhere to go or anywhere to take my stuff. Not having money always means not being able to afford to have any safety net when things go wrong. I'm just exhausted and stressed out from having so many problems for so long. I have to work 10 hours tonight, and I can barely think, because I'm so tired and stressed out. Please, keep praying for me about this.

Erin- I am still praying too. Please try not to worry so much-- it really doesn't help at all and I am sure this will be all right. You gave her the check- I don't think she would have taken it if she wasn't going to rent to you. You don't take a check and THEN go and do the background check etc... If she was going to do a credit and background check she would have done them before taking your check. Also-- did you give her you Social Security #?? Did you sign a paper for her to do a background check?? Without those 2 things she can't do either.
Relax sister and get some rest ---YOU ARE MOVING TOMORROW!!!!

Please, continue to pray for me about this. I'm very stressed out. I moved my books there before work, and I'm praying and hoping that GOD led me to renting this place, because he wants me there, and will make sure the landlady and her husband are happy to have me living there.

Maddie, I hope you are right. I can't remember if they asked for my soc. sec. number or not, but they can do a background check w/o one. In this county, you just need the name and current address to see if someone has a record. The lady says she is Christian and involved w/ her church, so keep praying that the room is really mine for the next year, and that she doesn't back out of the lease. I'm so stressed out, tired, and sick of having problem after problem. Things are not going well at work either, because I told them I must start taking the bus home, which means I can't work past 10pm anymore. They may try to get rid of me. Please, pray over this for me, too. I need another job, one I can get to and that doesn't have a problem with my transportation limitations. I really need prayers going up for me right now, lots of prayers.
